FLOWER EXTRAVAGANZA IN THE

BIEDOUW VALLEY

08 to 10 AUGUST 2026

EXPERIENCE THE BIEDOUW VALLEY FLOWER EXTRAVAGANZA FIRST HAND

For a few short weeks each year, the Biedouw Valley, nestled in the Agter Pakhuis region east of Clanwilliam in the Cederberg Mountain Range, transforms into one of the most breathtaking floral displays imaginable. At the end of winter, this remote valley bursts into life as millions of vibrant wildflowers paint the landscape in dazzling colours—a spectacle rarely seen elsewhere.

On the 4x4 trail, you'll experience this floral wonder up close, with panoramic views over the valley below. This is a privilege reserved for 4x4 enthusiasts, offering an unforgettable adventure through a landscape of beauty, peace, and tranquillity. Gather your family and friends for an extraordinary weekend in the Cederberg!

The Trail & The Flowers

This 4x4 trail offers a dynamic mix of rock and sand, ensuring an exciting challenge for drivers as they test their skills throughout the day. Depending on the weather, you might even encounter water and mud for added fun!

Along the way, you'll discover spectacular sights, including unique potholes, waterfalls, and larger swimming holes in the Biedouw River. The second half of the trail features a steep ascent to a plateau, where breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains—Sneeukop, Krakadouw, Citadelkop, and the Tankwa Karoo—await. During our visit this plateau is typically blanketed in flowers, creating a truly amazing experience. A light picnic lunch will be enjoyed at the viewpoint.
