Below some comments from our clients:
Hettienne Grobler: ‘Nia has changed my life. It has restored my joie de vivre and bodysense. I find my inspiration for my paintings and writing in my daily dose of Nia. It is a wonderful form of self-expression and one is able to access feelings and thoughts deeply stored in your subconscious through this discipline. It is based on sound principles of natural healing and psychological processes. Nia replaces all forms of therapy as you dance yourself into health, wellness and joy.’

Over the years I have tried all possible forms of exercise and none have come close to giving me the pleasure and benefit I get from Nia. The flowing movements and freedom of self-expression make it unique and I thoroughly enjoy it, while staying fit and healthy. And it's fun, fun, fun.

“We have come to be danced
Not the pretty dance
Not the pretty pretty, pick me, pick me dance
But the claw our way back into the belly
Of the sacred, sensual animal dance
The unhinged, unplugged, cat is out of its box dance
The holding the precious moment in the palms
Of our hands and feet dance…"

Nia stands for Neuromuscular Integrative Action, which simply means that Nia utilises physical activity to integrate one’s neurology (including the mind, emotions, and spirit), with one’s outer body, or musculature. To achieve this whole-being integration, Nia addresses the whole person, using a comprehensive, holistic exercise approach designed with a combination of nine classic movement forms.
Discover the Joy of Movement
In 1983, at the height of the no-pain no-gain fitness mentality, Carlos Rosas and Debbie Rosas, both successful fitness instructors in America, began to question the traditional models of exercise and began to craft a more holistic way of being healthy in one’s body. They incorporated mindfulness, comfort, passion, the Joy of Movement and pleasure, into their lives and their workout as the new way to feel and create both fitness and well-being. They discovered that getting fit and healthy through pleasure is the way to heal, and is key to health.
