Petervale Farm, Ceres

10 to 12 November 2017

An adventurous farm weekend with adrenalin and excitement for all

A weekend with something to do for everyone, this one makes sure the whole family is entertained. On Saturday morning the people that want to Zipline will head off to the Ceres Zip Slide to burn some adrenaline while the rest can stay to explore the farm and enjoy activities on offer.  Animal feeding and arts and craft will keep the young ones entertained until the zipliners return and everyone can exchange stories. If ziplining isn't your thing use the time to relax and recharge. The farm also offers hiking, mountain biking, bass fishing and swimming, for the brave.

The Ceres Zip Slide is 1.4km of pure adrenaline Eco Adventure situated in the Schurweberg Mountains below the Koekedouw Dam in Ceres. It consists of 8 slides ranging from 100-290m in length. See their website at www.ceresadventures.co.za

They pride themselves in being safe so this is suitable for young and old. In order to keep this activity safe some restrictions do apply. Children under the age of 18 need a parent or guardian to sign an indemnity form. A limited number of children between the ages of 3 and 7 can be accommodated and a parent needs to be present. For more information about weight and medical restrictions please have a look at the website: http://ceresadventures.co.za/page/faq/

What to bring:

Your camera.
Your GoPro/helmet mounted action camera. Optional.
Should you wish to bring your cell phone along for taking photos, please ensure that you wear pants that have a low leg pocket with a zip or buttons to safely carry your phone.
Remember to bring along sunblock in summer! Dress warmly for our winters!
No selfie sticks.

What to wear:

NO dresses or skirts.
Long or short pants.
Comfortable flat sole shoes preferably closed. (Sneakers/hiking boots)
Elastic band to tie up long hair.
If it is raining you’ll be given a 2 piece rain suit to wear at no extra charge.
Sunglasses should preferably have a neck strap.

Because we realize that not all children will be able to go zip lining and we want our parents to be able to enjoy this adventure, the guide and family will stay behind at the camp to ensure the children are safe and still having a good time. As Petervale is a working farm we will assist in feeding some of the animals, we might even get to milk a cow! This will be followed by some arts and crafts which will ensure that we all have stories to share around the campfire on Saturday evening.

Petervale Guest Farm is situated at the foot of the Skurweberg Mountains about 10km outside of Ceres. The campsite is nestled in a forest and overlooks the dam. It is equipped with toilets, hot showers and fresh spring drinking water. Individual campsites don't have electricity but electricity and freezer facilities are available at the wash up area.

Alternatively, choose to stay in one of three, fully equipped self-catering cottages (depending on availability). Each cottage sleeps 4 with the option to add an additional two. The bathrooms are fitted with both a bath and a shower.

All information supplied in the agenda is given in good faith by Cederberg 4x4 and compiled from the latest information available at the time.  The activity times, as indicated on the agenda, are subject to change without notice and at the sole discretion of the guide.
