BUSH MEDICINE COURSE - MODULE 1: - MODULE 2:
BROADEN YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF BUSH MEDICINE AND BE PREPARED FOR THE UNFORESEEN
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER, ALWAYS BE PREPARED
Cederberg 4x4 is offering a BUSH MEDICINE COURSE, enriching your knowledge and enabling you to attend to minor medical problems that have the potential of becoming very serious, if not managed or treated correctly. 4x4 enthusiasts visit remote places where a medical infrastructure and/or care is limited or sometimes non-existent. It is in these situations that minor problems could become life threatening.
It often happen that 4x4 Travellers / Overlanders are confronted with the prospect of having to treat medical conditions and make decisions, beyond their scope of experience and knowledge. This is as a direct result of the areas that we find ourselves in.
Dr Neil van Tonder has been presenting a BUSH MEDICINE COURSE for the past 6 years in the Western Cape, as well as in Gauteng. The course consists of two modules, each module lasting a full 6 x hours (devided into 2 x 3 hour sessions). Due to numerous requests, the modules will now be presented from 19h00 to 22h00 on two consecutive Tuesdays giving more people the opportunity to attend the courses. Both courses are very practical (you get to learn to suture lacerations and practice CPR on dummies) and hands on, with a manual and notes being provided.
Each successful candidate will receive a certificate from Dr Neil van Tonder (Family Practitioner and Occupational Health Medical Practitioner), an experienced “Bush” doctor, adventurer, outdoor enthusiast and competitive mountain biker.
The following topics will be covered in Module 1 and Module 2 and each module can be attended separately according your needs and requirements. The modules are interactive and consist of theory as well as practical, where sufficient time is allowed to master all the techniques.
